GESTURES: Set animations of your avatar, such as laughing or streching.

GRID (The): The servers owned and managed by Linden Lab that host the SL world.

GROUP: An organisation set-up by someone in SL. Residents can be invited to join groups.

HUD: Heads Up Display. An application you can use within SL for a specific activity, such as teleporting to set destinations, or sending messages.

IM: Instant message. A method of chatting with another resident.

MOUSELOOK: Viewing SL in first-person mode, i.e. you can't see yourself.

PARCEL; A small area of land within SL.

PRIM: Sometimes called a Primitive. A basic building block shape used to create objects.

REGION: A major landmass within SL, controlled by a SIM.

RESIDENTS: People within SL. For example, on Dec 23, 2006, there were 2,141,301 total residents registered in SL.

SIM: The computer that hosts and controls a REGION.

SLEMINAR: A seminar hosted within SL.

SLOONE: SL Tycoon - The elite of the most successful second lifers, budding and fully fledged movers and shapers of sim and linden - SL Entrepeneurial wizards.

SLURL: A Second Life URL. People can be transported when a website directly into SL by clicking a SRURL.

SLURL.COM: A website that shows locations in SL that are referenced by SLURL's, Here's the link: slurl

TELEPORT: Move instantly from one area to another. Sometimes abbreviated to TP.
